Itreally just comes down to the positioning of that one player. In a 3-2 zone, you position 3 defenders in line with the free throw line. In a 1-2-2 zone defense, the center player in that line steps forward towards the 3-point line. Pretty simple, but if we drill down, it gets way more complicated.
